"Phoenix"In 2000, ProgDay's original organizer decided to retire the festival. Rather than see things come to an end, a group of music fans with a fondness for the event took over the production. Phoenix was created for the 2001 edition of ProgDay to represent the rebirth of the festival and was later used on the CD release of recordings from the show. Phoenix became the unofficial symbol for ProgDay (www.progday.net) and was used on tickets and other materials until 2004, when the reed-playing mushroom "Mr. Sax" put in his first appearance.
